Jordan Red Releases Energetic Single “AWAKE” In Advance Of Debut Album

Jordan Red, a hard rock band from the UK, has released a new single, “AWAKE”. This high-energy tune comes in advance of the band’s debut full-length album, Hands That Built The World, which drops November 11th, 2022.

Jordan Red was formed by frontman Daniel Leigh and guitarist Dan Baker. The band set up its home base in London, and includes studio/live musicians Conor O’Keefe (bass) and Dave Fee (drums).

When I was first introduced to the music of Jordan Red, I was hooked right away. They have a style that would appeal to lovers of all kinds of hard rock, yet their sound is very unique with the combination of masterful guitar work and stellar vocals.

“AWAKE” was produced by Romesh Dodangoda at Long Wave Studios in Cardiff. All Jordan Red songs, music and lyrics are written and arranged by Baker and Leigh.

Right from the start “AWAKE” has an upbeat tempo that continues throughout the song. Leigh’s voice is full of vigor that reflects the passion behind this anthem. The guitar riffs are captivating and varied and keep the listener engaged.

Baker describes how “AWAKE” came to life. “One night when I was bored during lockdown, I ordered my dream guitar online. A few days later, a red ESP Eclipse arrived and this is the first riff I played when I picked it up straight out of the box. Perhaps it was the anger and frustration of being shut inside for so long, but we channeled all that energy into this loud, rage-driven riff fest with another massive shout-or-sing-along vocal from Daniel.”

The emotion that went into writing “AWAKE” can be heard in the chorus: “I’m awake now I’m never falling for a life with you I won’t break now I’ll never fall This time we’re through”

Baker and Leigh sent demos back and forth during lockdown, and were finally able to record "AWAKE" at Long Wave Studios. This was the last song written and recorded for the upcoming album, but with the first line “I’m awake now”, it’s a perfect fit for the album’s opening track.

Hands That Built The World is sure to be an entertaining album that will showcase Jordan Red’s distincve sound. Dates for live shows will be announced for 2023. Jordan Red can be found on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Linktree, and the band's website.
